Easy for everyone

You don't have to be a tax expert.

Ordwell fills in what it can find out for itself, so the person at the counter needs to know the customer, not the codes. It only fills what is empty, and never overwrites what you typed.

  • A GSTIN fills in the party

Type a customer's or supplier's GSTIN and their name, address, state and registration type come from the GST records. A cancelled GSTIN is flagged before you bill it.

  • HSN codes by description

Type “solar panel” or “installation” and choose the code from the official GST list, with what it covers shown beside it. A code from your supplier's bill works as typed.

  • States by name

No two-digit state codes to remember. The state is read from the GSTIN, or chosen by its name.

  • A PIN code fills the address

Type the six-digit PIN and the city and state fill themselves in from India Post's directory.

Books and reports

Ledgers your accountant will trust.

Every entry comes from a document, nothing is overwritten, and corrections leave a trail.

  • Customer and supplier ledgers, with statements of account
  • Stock ledger by item, godown and batch
  • Sales, purchase and GST registers
  • Ageing of receivables and payables
  • Trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet
  • Every report as PDF or Excel, and in Tally format for your accountant

Owners get a dashboard that shows what needs a look today. Accountants get the registers, the GST workings and a Tally-format export, read-only, without asking anyone for a file.

AI

AI that saves the typing, and leaves the decisions to you.

It reads, suggests and answers. A person accepts.

Team and control

Your people, each with the right access.

Built for a business with an owner, an accountant, a store and a team in the field.

  • Roles for every person

Owner, accountant, sales, store, installer — each sees and does only what their role allows.

  • Approvals

A discount past the limit, a credit limit crossed or a big expense goes to the right person to allow, on the phone.

  • Branches and godowns

Several branches, each with its own number series, stock and GST registration if it has one.

  • Locked periods

Once a month is filed, it is locked — corrections are made as new entries, never by changing the past.

  • Audit trail

Who created, changed, approved or cancelled what, and when — kept for every document.

  • Three languages

English, Hindi and Marathi, chosen by each person. Customer messages go in the customer's language.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Does Ordwell file GST returns?

Ordwell prepares GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from your books, checks them, and gives you the file to upload on the GST portal. The filing itself is done by you or your accountant on the portal.

Who needs e-invoicing?

Businesses whose aggregate annual turnover is above ₹5 crore must register B2B invoices on the Invoice Registration Portal. Ordwell does it when the invoice is finalised and prints the IRN and QR code on it.

When is an e-way bill needed?

Generally when goods worth more than ₹50,000 move by road. Ordwell creates the e-way bill from the invoice or delivery challan, with the vehicle and distance, so nothing is typed twice.

Does the AI post anything on its own?

No. AI reads bills and documents, answers questions and suggests matches, but nothing enters your books until a person has accepted it. It works under the person's own access, so it cannot see what they cannot.

Do I need to know HSN codes or GST state codes?

No. Type what the item is — "solar panel", "installation" — and choose its HSN or SAC code from the official GST list. States are chosen by name, and a GSTIN fills in the party's name, address and state from the GST records. Choosing a code does not change the GST rate you have set.

Can I record salaries, rent and other running costs?

Yes. Record an expense with one line per head — salaries, rent, electricity, fuel and the rest — and say how it was paid. A line can be charged to a job, so it shows in that job's profit. GST on a supplier's bill is claimed where the law allows it.

Can I use Ordwell on my phone?

Yes. Ordwell works in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer — approvals, collections, the project board and the crew's site work were all designed for the phone first.

Can I bring my data from Tally?

Yes. Masters, opening balances and stock come in from Tally or Excel, and we check the totals against your old books before you switch.

Put your business in order.

Ordwell is opening to businesses in small batches. Join the waiting list, and we help you set up and bring your data in from Tally or Excel when it is your turn.
