For accountants and CAs
Books you can rely on, without asking for a file.
When a client runs on Ordwell, their chartered accountant gets read-only access to the books, GST workings ready for review, locked periods and an audit trail — and exports in Tally format, so nothing about the way you work has to change.
What you get
Everything you need to review and file.
Your own login, read-only
Look at the books whenever you need to, without asking the client for a file or a backup.
GST workings
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B prepared from posted documents, with the check that finds what would trip the return.
GSTR-2B and IMS matched
Purchase bills matched against what suppliers reported, with mismatches listed for follow-up.
Locked periods
A filed month is locked at the database. Corrections come as new entries in an open period — the filed figures do not move.
An audit trail
Every document shows who made, changed, approved or cancelled it, and when.
Tally-format export
Vouchers and masters exported for Tally, so your own working papers stay as they are.
Built like a ledger should be
Nothing is overwritten. Everything adds up.
Every entry comes from a document, and each document posts its stock, party, tax and ledger effects together or not at all. A cancelled invoice is reversed, not deleted. Rates are dated, so an old invoice keeps the tax that applied on its day.
- Gap-free numbering per branch and year
- Reversals instead of edits
- Dated tax rates and HSN codes
- Trial balance, P&L and balance sheet from the same entries
Output tax

- Every B2B invoice has a valid GSTIN
- e-Invoice registered for all eligible invoices
- HSN summary matches the invoices
- 2 purchase bills missing from GSTR-2B
- Credit notes linked to their invoices
FAQ
Questions accountants ask
Can a CA access a client's books in Ordwell?
Yes. The client invites you with the accountant role, and you sign in with your own login. You can see the books, registers and GST workings; you cannot change the client's documents.
Can I still use Tally for my working papers?
Yes. Ordwell exports vouchers and masters in a format Tally imports, so you can keep your own process.
What stops figures changing after a return is filed?
The period is locked once filed, and the lock is enforced by the database itself, not only by the screens. A correction is posted as a new entry in an open period.
Are invoices numbered without gaps?
Yes. Numbers are allocated per branch, document type and financial year, without gaps, at the moment a document is finalised.
